Technical Terms: Challenge Response, Sender Policy Framework

The technology uses a white-list based solution. It verifies non-whitelisted senders by sending out an authentication email. This email is very similar to email address confirmation systems you have seen on web sites requiring a login. The difference is that the sender does not have to take any action other than opening the email. Once opened the sender is validated and all emails, including the first one sent to you, go through without further interruption. In some cases they may have to respond to the email. This is a backup measure for automated systems and non html email clients.

Whitelisting addresses is also accomplished by simply sending an email to someone.

There is a web based and software based access to quarantine.

The result is an anti-spam rate far above any scanning based or blacklist based solution or combination of, and a very predictable solution.

The 'Big' objection

Automated emails such as an eCommerce order notification are blocked because the originating system does not respond. Think about this. SPAM is 99.999% eliminated with this system but it is not perfect. Nobody wants to fish through quarantine to get an email from some automated engine. Yet the collective Internet "we" are spending billions on anti-spam. The long term answer is for eCommerce companies to use an auto-responder, which more and more companies are already doing.

Anti Spam that works best

By far this solution is superior because other solutions block legitimate email haphazardly. Scanning solutions block emails based on guessing at content through software algorithms that constantly need changing. IP black-list based solutions block email based on IP and frequently block legitimate email from entire networks. If a mistake is to be made, knowing when it will happen is the best possible outcome. With our solution, only the rare automated emails may be blocked, and you know when it will happen. This predictability provides confidence to your users. Once your customer has done business with a company, the emails from that company are not likely to be blocked again.
